Yes, Of Course!

×

This is the oldest house (103 years) in Gisborne, and it stands in Stout Street adjacent to the museum. Should it be preserved for posterity? Of course it should! In another 100 years, if it can be made to last that long, there won't be another house in Gisborne remotely resembling it. It should be refurbished and stocked with furniture and fittings belonging to the last century and would then become a unique and valuable adjunct to the museum in the years to come. (We are making a donation to the proposed renovation fund, and exhort our readers to do likewise.)
