Roving Camera

A Make 'n Model contest for secondary school pupils was run by Melbourne Cash, the prizes for which amounted to $80 worth of vouchers.

Mrs A. T. Ingram, Waerenga-a-hika, with her chestnut mare, "Sienna Sue". This combination had a very successful circuit of the West Coast A. & P. Shows. "Siena Sue" was champion hack at Wanganui, Waverley and Stratford and was reserve champion at Hawera.

Ail this, however, does not quite impress "Mac", the Ingram farm dog, which is not averse to riding "Siena Sue" and doing his supervising from her back.

Margaret Traue 3, Elizabeth Wilson 2, Maree Bull 1, placegetters in the forms three to four section.

Maree Hoggins 1, Lynette Kelly 2, Marjorie Louie 3, were the placegetters in the forms five to six section.

The Red Cross made a presentation of two large sun umbrellas to Ward Seven at the Cook Hospital. These will allow the old people to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine without being subjected to too much of Gisborne's heat. At left are Sister G. Peterson, Miss G. Clifford-Jones (Red Cross president), and Mrs I. B. Holland (organiser of the Old Folk's Help Bank).
