An educational trip by some of the pupils of the Tolaga Bay Primary School was made to Gisborne. Visits to various factories and institutions included a trip on the harbour board launch. The boys and girts are pictured here on the wharf at Number Two shed with the Harbourmaster, Captain Ian McRae.

Bill Nolan, 32 Cook Street, walked away with the novice, amateur and open awards (for carnations grown outside) at last year's carnation show. Bill, who was forced to retire because of ill health, took up carnation growing for something to do without too much strain. He has ended up confounding the critics who said a triple award like that mentioned just couldn't be done.

The Gisborne Gun Club purchased an old classroom building from the Te Hapara School and have turned it into a clubroom on their shooting range at The Willows. Here the building is seen being transported along Gladstone Road to its destination.
