Out Of The Patutahi Pits
From the hot, exciting depths of the pits of Patutahi Speedway, in a pre-Christmas meet, roared the daredevil 2ZG speedway drivers to thrill a large crowd. This was the "thrilling" highlight of the 2ZG Speedway, run under the control of the Gisborne Motor-cycle and Midget Car Club and N.2.A.C.U. Proceeds, approximately $300, will go to the St, John Ambulance Association.

When not racing around the track Peter Sledmere was broadcasting the proceedings live over radio.
Former speedway champion Ciive Rhodes gave extra commentaries on the races.
