Martin Bowls

Teams of players from Gisborne and 13 other centres took part in the Martin bowling tournament, one of the main tournaments of the year.

Winners of the tournament were Peter Kaua, Alec Allan, Frank Hale, and Tom Vaughan (skip), all of the Gisborne Bowling Club.

The runners-up were the winners of the T. Smale trophy. They are Hec Weatherley, Les Sutton, Bert Costello, and Geoff Weatherley (skip), all of the Kahutia Bowling Club.
