East Coast Camp-Out

A one week camp-out based on the style of Outward Bound was an educational highlight for Form 1 pupils of the Gisborne Intermediate School. The camp was organised by teacher Gary Graham and run with the help of other teachers and parents. The former Waipiro Bay hospital provided the ideal base for the venture. School lessons continued for the week but these also included a programme on camping out at night, which the children did on their last night there. Teacher Hemi Hau supplied the pictures.
