Archery Champs

Archers from Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, and Poverty Bay took part in the annual three-day archery championships over Labour weekend. The contest consisted of a field shoot, target shoot, and a clout.

Local archers to gain placings were Mrs Madge Johnson, ladies' flight and free style field, Mr Keith Baker, men's free style field, and Mrs Dorothy Batcheldor gained the highest aggregate for the ladies' events.
