An expenditure totalling $22,000 hag provided the Poverty Bay Golf Club's course at Awapuni with a fully comprehensive watering system. This will stop the drying out of fairways during the hot summer season, enabling golfers to enjoy year round golf under ideal conditions. Here part of the new sprinkler system is seen in action.

John and Christine Coulson are off on a three-year working holiday taking in Canada, England, Europe and Australia. On their way they will spend six months in Miami, U.S.A., with an uncle - lucky things! At the wedding of Doug Johnstone and Lois Harrison at St. Mark's, Elgin, members of the Gisborne Dog Training Club (of which Lois is a member) formed a guard of honour with their dogs, a novel and unusual surprise for the couple as they came out of the church.
