Peri McDonald recently passed her junior examination of the New Zealand Society of Professional Floral Artists. Peri is the daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. McDonald, Puha, and works at the Tropicana.

A meeting was held in the Scout Hall, Carnarvon Street, to promote the care in the use of firearms in mountainous country. A demonstration and lecture was given by Mr G. Crone, secretary of the Mountain Safety Committee. Members of both land and sea Scouts attended the meeting.

Members of Yvonne Winchester's Ballroom Dancing School have recently formed a Dance Club. Members spend the first hour of each club night (which is Monday) taking instruction then spend the rest of the evening dancing as they please. The club dances in the Mangapapa Residents' Hall. So go along Mondays and join in. Anyone can.

At right is a picture taken at Arowhana on July 19. Members of the Te Hapara Scout group are seen walking in the snow during their recent trip there.
