Welfare Conference
Delegates and observers from all over the country attended the Dominion Conference of the Maori Women's Welfare League held at the Pohc-o-Rawiri meetinghouse. The week-long conference was noted for much discussion concerning the future of Maori welfare.

Winners of the Te Puea Trophy for the best annual report went to Mesdames T. Hakaraia, B. Thompson, V. Hauraki, L. Brown and M. Waiti. At left is Mayor Harry Barker. (National Publicity Studios).
