This magnificent red deer head has earned for Denis Moloney, Murphy Street, the P.B. branch of the Deerstalkers' Association's Holden Cup which is awarded for the best red deer. With 307⅞ points this breaks Colin Taylor's record of 302 points and also gives Denis the tray pictured which is the District Record Head Trophy.

From Mrs E. Prendergast, a long-time subscriber of 128 Crawford Road, comes this picture of her grand-daughter, six-year-old Elizabeth-Anne Young, of Tokoroa. Elizabeth-Anne won the Anthony Parker Championship Challenge Cup and the Niederer Scholarship for speech under eight years at the Tauranga Competitions. All grandmothers have pretty grand-children though, don't you think?

Joyce and Neil Henderson have really come up with a way out potato. From their garden in Whakarau Road, Te Karaka, they show us this specimen which for all the world looks like A. A. Milne's piglet from Winnie the Pooh. The spud is 11 inches wide from ear to ear and eight inches high.
