Out & About

Hamilton County Blue Grass Band. Members of the Hamilton County Blue Grass Band appeared for a short time in Smith & Browns Store to play a few numbers and sign autographs on June 10.

Coming of Age. Elaine Jocelyn Beets, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. A. Beets, Welcome Bay, Tauranga, and formerly of Patutahi. Elaine, who is pictured with her parents, is now nursing in Rotorua.

Happy Hours. About 250 children were entertained at the Te Hapara Baptist Church in Waverley Street on May 21 at a Church programme entitled "Happy Hours". The programme which ran for five mornings of the school holidays consisted of competitions, stories, puppet shows, singing, and quiz sessions. The children pictured above are taking part in an action song.
