Girls' Brigade
Ten to twelve - year - olds from all companies of the Gisborne Girls' Brigade attended an afternoon of competitive knitting and Scottish Country Dancing. Various organisations supplied instructors for the knitting lessons and competitions, while members of the White Heather Dance Club gave tuition in Scottish Country Dancing.
Hard at it are Rawinia Tatare, Elizabeth Kilpatrick, and Christine Charteris.
Not a stitch was dropped by Suzane White, Catherine Christie, and Daisy Sadlier.
Highlight of the knitting lessons was a demonstration of spinning by Mrs L. Rowley. Pictured with her are Christine Lees, Linda Dominey, Mrs E. Olds, Jenny O'Donnell, Alison Maynard, and Denise Croasdale.
