Once Is Enough!

More than four thousand people took advantage of the invitation by the Police Department to inspect the Police Station recently. Various departments were open to the public. Static and live displays were all part of an interesting and informative insight into the work of the police.

Constable H. Harvey, in charge of the arms display, holds up a 303 P14 rifle with a split barrel. This shows the danger of not cleaning your gun. A mason bee had blocked the barrel with its nest, the gun was loaded and fired, and bang! - one split barrel.
