Henry Warrington, 150 Disraeli Street, had quite a struggle to land this 5' 6" thresher shark off the beach by the abattoirs recently. It took him half an hour to land but this required some skill as you can see by the very light rod. The line was of 25 lb breaking strain only. Pictured admiring Henry's catch are, from left, Jill Bloomfield, June Rutherford and Winifred Jones.

Budding astronaut, Donald Kerr, son of Mr and Mrs B. Kerr, 33 Endcliffe Road, is shown with his own model of a rocket launching tower and pad. He showed outstanding block construction ability at the Kaiti Playcentre to engineer this model. Donald reckons by the time he's an astronaut they'll be ready for him to go to the next galaxy.
