A 64ft. roof truss, weighing 15cwt. ready for lifting into position at the new Gisborne Trades and Labour Hall in Pool Street.

All the work on the hall so far has been voluntary. Some of the workers on a recent Saturday were (Back row) Ramsay Tucker, Les Buchanan, John Griggs, Elwyn Richards, Gerard Murray, & Peter Casey; and (front row) Lee File, Alf Adams, Phil Garlick, Geoff Watts, Reg Keeling, M.P. and Alec Rocard.

Conditions were not the best for Surfeasting Club's contest at Waikanae Beach on October 30, and largest fish was under 5 lbs. Winners in various classes were J. Foster, R. Russell, H. Healey and J. Daverton, with Mr Russell catching the largest fish.
