No No Nanette

×

Gisborne Operatic Society's presentation for the year, "No, No, Nanette", played six nights to good houses in the Opera House, winding up on Labour night. Average theatregoer appeared to enjoy show to the full, and cast (see last "Photo News") and producer Stan Vincent and assistants came in for good measure of praise. Cast made the most of bright story and lyrics, and orchestra under Stan Rutherford did its best by the unexceptional musical score. Result was light entertainment at its amateur best, and some of the best was very good indeed. Attractive costumes and sets were credit to the show. Pictures show (above) a scene from the second act, and (below) the finale. (Both pictures by Mayfair Studies).
