Surf Riding Champion

Chris Ransley, 4 Dalrymple Road, took the honours at this year's surf riding championships held at New Plymouth. He won the Catalina Cup for the best overall surf rider, the Bob Davie Surfboards Trophy for the junior title, and the junior board riding title and junior paddle race. The Davie trophy is a magnificent affair, being made of clear, blue and red fibre glass. A map of New Zealand (in blue) is contained in a monolith type slab which is mounted on a red base, Congratulations to Chris on a great effort!
