Life Member

The Poverty Bay Basketball Association recently bestowed the honour of life member recently on two of its most distinguished members. They are Mrs Clara Williamson (left) and Mrs Elsie Carmichael who are sisters. They have served the club well, both being associated with the club since its inception in 1928. Mrs Williamson was in the P.B. reps from 1930 to 1935. In 1935 she was captain of the rep team. She has served as secretary, and, except for one year, has since 1948 been president of the Association. She retired from this position last year. Mrs Carmichael has been manageress of the P.B. rep team at three tournaments, was social committee convenor for over ten years, and last year was secretary of the National Tournament Association. She has been a vice-president for 20 years, and has also been a secretary of the Referees' Association. Mrs Carmichael played her first rep match in 1932.
