Great Jumping

The N.Z. Horse Society's jumping show at the showgrounds at the end of March produced some spectacular examples of this equestrian art. Highlight of the three-day programme was the Johnnie Walker A Grade Grand Prix. After an afternoon of close contesting the event went to Stuart Mitchell and Walnut.

The winning combination clears the brick wall in a magnificent leap.

Walnut stretches right out to clear the same obstacle.

Sheryl Trumper of Hastings took second place in the event on Barrister.

Dougall Hamilton, South Island team captain, rides Henry Lea into third place

Fourth in the event was Justice ridden by Merryn McPhail

Warwick Tombleson on Rajah clears the brick wall in the Grand Prix

Graham Tombleson on Pinto was placed equal first in the Leopard Six-bar
