Golf Club Wind-ups

Two country clubs held their closing days recently and these were Tolaga Bay and Waikohu.

Mrs Marie Taumanu, of the Tolaga Bay Ladies' Golf Club, was the year's winner of the Aotearoa Cup. Playing a remarkable 12 under her handicap Mrs Taumanu scored the best medal round for this cup which is competed for in New Zealand and Fiji. She is pictured

The Tolaga Bay ladies also did pretty well this season. They won the shield for the most pennant games won in competition with other clubs, from the Gisborne and Wairoa districts. They are, from left in front, Mesdames Madeline Tangohau, Naomi Shanks, Joy Thornton, Miss Fleur Olsen. At back, Mrs Ruby Henry, Miss Kate Mullaney, Mesdames Diane Smith, Dorothy Clark and Gwen McGregor.

Out at Waikohu Sonny Rutene and Judy Miller were winners of the Anniversary Cup.
