The annual election of board members took place at the third October tea meeting and the new board for 1969, pictured above, is from left, in front, Trevor Caley, president, Mike Brittenden and Rex Lucinsky, vice-presidents, Graeme Day, secretary, Neil Green, treasurer, and, at back, Pat Naden, Don Thorburn, Russell Searle, Bob Knight, Peter Hutchings, Dave McEwan and Roger Stewart.

Chairman for the second October tea meeting was Graham Sutcliffe who is pictured with the guest speakers who are, from left, Hec Yates and Neil Bickerton, who spoke on the problems of attracting leaders for the Scout movement, and C. Robinson and Christine Allen who talked about the nurse recruiting campaign and the problems of nursing.

Roger Stewart receives from president John Jennings the Award of Merit the Gisborne Chapter has won for the third year in a row in recognition of outstanding participation in the Teenage Driving Contest.

The Jaycee fountain is just about structurally complete but there is now a lot of work to be done to finish the project--by Christmas it is hoped.
