Winners of the Jock McLean Memorial Shield for the second year in succession was the Riverina Soccer team. An Eastern League competition, the trophy is competed for by Gisborne, Wairoa and Napier. In town recently with their new range of surfboards for the coming season were Brooke Mitchell and Steve King of Atlas Woods Ltd. They had all the most popular and latest shapes on display at John Guy's and Ian Dunsmore's. At left is Brooke and at centre is Steve. With them are Billy Goodwin, up and coming local young surfer, and Ian Dunsmore.
