Donald Cook, son of Mr and Mrs R. H. Cook, 456 Palmerston Road, graduated from Victoria University this year. He took his M.Sc. with second class honours in Chemistry.

Barbara McEwin, daughter of Mr and Mrs V. W. McEwin, 727 Aberdeen Road, obtained her Diploma of Horticulture at Lincoln College. Barbara is now with the Forestry Department at Rotorua.

Pat Malcon took his B. A. degree at Victoria University Pat, who is the son of Mr and Mrs N. Malcon, 3 Haig Street, is now sitting for honours.

A third year Home Science student at Otago University, Barbara McLeod has been elected Lady Vice-President of the University Students' Association for 1969. Barbara is the daughter of Mrs H. McLeod, 34 Anzac Street, and the late Mr A. R. McLeod.

Jocelyn Webster, the daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. C. Webster, 33 Haronga Road, is attending Otago University. She was awarded the Stuart Prize for Philosophy 1 for first year students. Jocelyn is studying to be a teacher.

Another of the Webster girls, Rachael, is now at the Knoxville University, Tennessee, U.S.A., taking up the Helen B. Atwater scholarship she won. This enables her to do post-graduate studies in Home Science. Rachael gained her Diploma in Home Science in 1966 and has spent the last two years lecturing at Otago University, from which she graduated.

Mr and Mrs Webster's eldest daughter, Diane, is at present on a teaching trip to England, with occasional forays to the Continent. Diane took her M. A. at Otago in 1964, then went teaching at Papakura High. After then teaching at Epsom Girls' Grammar, Diane went to England about a year ago, where she took a specialist course in the techniques of English pronunciation. This course is designed to help foreign people overcome the handicaps of the language as it is spoken. Diane still continues her singing interests.
