$1,600 Raised

The recent Poverty Bay Women's Hockey Association's Queen Carnival was most successful with nearly $1,600 being raised by the various candidates and their committees. The Y.M.P.club won the crown by raising $704. Horouta raised $527, Kiatoa raised $165 and L.D.S. $161.

A colourful cabaret was held in the Kaiti Hall where the winner was announced and the crowning ceremony conducted.
