Search And Rescue Operation

An exercise in search and rescue operations was carried out recently by the Te Hapara Air Scouts.

Two "explorers" were involved in an "accident" in some bush near Gisborne. One was "shot" in the leg, and, after making this victim as comfortable as possible, the second "explorer" went for help.

The Scouts then went into action, retracing the trail taken by the "explorer", finding the "victim", rendering first aid, then taking him out by stretcher to a helicopter site for transfer out.
