Miss Armstrong is well known throughout N.Z. basketball circles as a N.Z. Examiner, president of the N.Z. Basketball Referees' Association, and as president of the Wellington Basketball Association.

Recent winner of the novice dress section of the Wool Craft Competitions conducted by the New Zealand Wool Board was Mrs T. Neilson of Ruakituri. The judge, Mrs G. H. Stewart, was particularly impressed with the entry and commended Mrs Neilson for her fine work.

Mrs Iris Latham (nee Somervell) (left), and Miss Betty Armstrong pictured at the recent Wellington Basketball Association's jubilee gathering. Mrs Latham held the N.Z.B.R.A. badge, and was president of the Poverty Bay Basketball Referees' Association, as well as being the association's coach for some years, before she left for service with the Forces overseas during the war. After her return she carried on as a referee in Wellington and the Hutt Valley, and had a record of over 30 years as a basketball referee before her retirement.

Miss Doris Eichler is leaving Hick's Bay after living there for the past 21 years. She has spent that period as a full time worker with the Brethren Assembly. She will take up residence in Gisborne. (Capt. Medland).
