Recently Mr Say retired from the position, and was honoured at a farewell function at which he paid full recognition to the assistance his wife had always given him with the job. Photo shows Mr and Mrs Kay after presentation.

At Christmas, 1927, an urgent need arose at Cook Hospital for a chef to meet a sudden emergency. An appeal was made to Mr A. Kay to help out. He came., and he stayed— for 28 years. In that time he has prepared enough food to feed the entire population of N.Z. twice over.
