Members of the Aoelian Orchestra with, their conductor, Mr Len Schwabe, at the conclusion of a final recital given in the Holy Trinity church hall before Mr Schwabe's departure from Gisborne to take up a teaching position at Rongatai College, Wellington, The orchestra presented Mr Schwabe with a travelling bag as a mark of their appreciation.

Miss Denise Tucker, 165 Fox Street, who was one of 49 debutantes presented at the combined Otago High School Old Students Ball. She is now a student nurse at the Dunedin Hospital.
