First Exams

The first exams held in Gisborne by the New Zealand Speech and Drama Board were conducted recently by the board's examiner and adjudicator, Mr F. Newman. Sixteen pupils of the Joan Taylor Speech and Drama Studio passed their exams including one with honours, and five with merit.

Passing with honours was Keren Anne Rickard.

Shelley Peach and Carolyn Aitken gained passes.

Passes were also gained by Gareth Stephens, Peter Briant and John Davis.

Fred Patuwai, Grant Williams, Kerry Wynn-Parke, and Denise and Sheryl Mastrovich were five more who passed

Those who also gained merits were Christine Jones-Sexton, Anne Liddell, Gillian Williams, Jennifer Thorpe and Phillippa Williams.
