Quane Trophy

The Auckland-based N.Z. Windansea Surfriding Club made a successful challenge for the Quane Trophy when they competed against the holders, Eastern Districts, at Makorori.

Containing three local riders, Allan Byrne, Doug Hislop, and Jim Carney, the challenging team won the event by 29 points to 19.

Conditions were excellent with consistent two-four foot waves providing the competitors with plenty of good rides.
