Top performer and major drawcard at the Car Club's quarter-mile sprint at The Willows was motor racing exponent Rod Coppins (above) and his 4700cc Mustang saloon.

Coppins covered the distance in a scorching 14.2seconds (previous record 14.9sec) and was clocking over the "ton" at the end.
