Successful Sportsmen's Dinner

The Crippled Children Society's sportsmen's Dinner proved a great success. Held at the Midway pavilion 120 local sportsmen contributed greatly to the Society. After expenses had been deducted a total of $500 helped to augment the society's funds.

Highlights of the evening were the speeches made by visiting sportsmen who were golfer Stuart Jones, yachtsman Jim Davern and footballer Peter Jones. They were introduced to the gathering by rugby commentator Bob Irvine.

The three committeemen who arranged the whole evening were Arthur Bartlett Rondon Ferrick and John Hawkesworth.
