Comings and Goings
A former Miss Gisborne in the person of Patricia Lombard (nee Hill) returned to the city recently as part of a month's stay in New Zealand. She stayed with her sister, Mrs P. J. Bennett, 48 Owen Road. After leaving New Zealand Pat will join her husband Pierre, a pilot, in Tahiti, where they will be stationed for six months before returning to their home in Paris. Pat (left) is pictured with her 10-month-old daughter Natahalie, while at right is Mrs Joy Bennett with Russell, one of her three sons.
Graham Williams, Dick de Rek (Brisbane), and Dave Yearley (Auckland) who have been on a working holiday in the city for the past three to twelve months are off to Queensland. A nice warm surfing winter awaits them on the Gold Coast where they can compare Australian and New Zealand surf.
Betty McDonald, Endeavour Street, and a receptionist with Dalgetys, is off on a working holiday to Australia. She is going to Kempsey, N.S.W., at first and will move on from there.
Ken Clegg is off home to Southwest Rocks, N.S.W. He has spent two years in New Zealand, the last year in Gisborne where he has been a compositor on the Gisborne Herald. He was also a prominent member of the Waikanae Surf Life Saving Club.
A recent traveller on the Northern Star is Noema, daughter of George and Olwen Teruna, 8 Puriri Street. She is off on a trip to South Wales to visit her grandmother. Pictured at her farewell party are brother Hira, Mr Teruna, Noema, Mrs Teruna and brother Tony.(K.K.K.)
