East Coast Landscape

Clear blue skies, safe waters and good surf give the East Coast a most enviable reputation. The area is becoming more popular every year and soon camps and caravans will dot the coast line during the holidays. Taken from the hill above the Tatapouri hotel the view shows progressively, Tatapouri Bay then points Turihau, Pouawa, Whangara and Gable End Foreland.

The mecca of hundreds of surfers, swimmers and sun-bathers during the summer, Wainui and Makorori beaches give untold pleasure to people of all ages. The warn waters of the Pacific lap the beautiful sandy beaches 'neath clear blue skies.

The centre of Poverty Bay, Gisborne is a thriving city, where its inhabitants go about their daily business with a maximum of sunshine to gladden their days. The main street has the town clock as its focal point while at the right are two of the city's tallest buildings.
