Comings And Goings

After spending the past ten years in Gisborne as minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the Reverend Ian Dixon, his wife Brenda, and youngest daughter Margaret go down to the South Island. They will reside in Timaru where Mr Dixon will take over St. Paul's.

From 665 Gladstone Road, Claude and Joyce Taylor are off to Hastings where Claude will take up his promotion as District Probation Officer. Gisbornites born and bred, the Taylors reckon this is the only place to live and will be back to retire when Claude completes his career in the Justice Department. Their son Noel is also pictured.

New arrivals in our sunny city are Dave and Eileen Bolitho of 573 Aberdeen Road. Dave is Charge Technologist at the Cook Hospital lab. They have recently come from Ashburton Hospital, prior to which they came out from England at the beginning of the year.

Margaret Giddens, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. A. Giddens, Makaraka, is off to California and Canada for four months. Margaret, a checker at Openshaws, gained sixth place in the Four Square "Checker of the Year" contest. There were 120 entries and the contest was judged on speed and accuracy. Margaret will resume working with Openshaws when she returns from her trip.

Raymond Goodley, who has been a marine engineer with the Port Line and based in England for the last ten years, has returned to New Zealand and accepted a position with Lloyd's Register of Shipping in Auckland. Ray is the son of Mr and Mrs Gordon Goodley, 134 Ormond Road.

After 18 months as manager of the Government Life Insurance Office, Derek Griffis is off to Auckland on promotion. He leaves 47 Anzac Street with his wife Jacqueline and daughters Coral and Suzanne.
