Going Coastwise

For those who think that to have a good holiday they have to go tripping off to far distant places here is a tip to say that "it ain't necessarily so". There are great spots up the coast, virtually on your own back door, for camping awhile or even a day's outing. One of these ideal places for a family camping holiday is Tolaga Bay where the beaches are safe, swimming and fishing good, and the friendly people of the township go out of their way to help visitors.

Construction work on the coast road is in the final stages and the Pakarae River bridge is the last major undertaking from here to East Cape. Progress on this work (above) is easily visible on a trip to Tolaga.
