The remains of the house which was destroyed by a fire at Tolaga Bay in which one man lost his life and another was seriously burned. Breaking out in the early hours of Saturday, 11th November, the fire swept swiftly through the residence of Mr and Mrs Sam Crawford before any part of it could be saved. The house was estimated to be about eighty years old.

An unusual accident occurred at the railway yards when one of Monk Bros.' cranes overturned and came to rest against the side of the truck onto which it was unloading reinforcing steel. Little damage was done, however, and no one was hurt.

From Tom Sheahan of 58 Awapuni Road comes this shot of a dew-encrusted cobweb taken on an Agfa automatic camera. Making a good pattern picture the photo shows to advantage the ingenuity of Mr Spider.

Now becoming part of the delivery scene in New Zealand are these road transporters which take cars from manufacturer to retailer. Carting anywhere from six to eight cars the vehicles save much valuable space on other types of transport. The picture was taken as the transport er halted outside Redstone Motors.
