Harbour Lights

The new harbour calls for new approaches and with the erection of the new beacons in Awapuni Road past the abattoirs the old one nearer town has outlived its usefulness and is being dismantled. Monk Bros cranes removed the light from the structure (above) recently, and operators with the detached beacon are John Monk, Doug Chatfield, a harbour board representative and Trevor Fafieta.
