Schools Gymnastic Festival

The annual Poverty Bay Schools' Gymnastic Festival was held at the YMCA stadium early in July.

There were groups from country, intermediate, post primary and contributing schools competing and the standard of the entrants was good.

Dean Anaerson, Stephen Pemberton, Trevor Porter and Wayne Robinson from Te Hapara line up for an event.

Also from Central School is Clare Wilkinson on the beam.

Doing the splits on the beam is Jan Hills from Ngatapa.

Karen Ragget, Carol Gardiner, Collette Scholium and Theresa Scanlan from St. Mary's were winners of the contributing B grade girls.

Winners of the intermediate grade girls were Maree Sharp, Odette Kane, Margaret Gordon and Janice Glendenning from St. Mary's school.
