Successful Festival

The Gisborne Choral Society combined with the Gisborne Concert Orchestra to present a first-class music festival in the Opera House on July 6.

The choir sang "The Death of Minnehaha" and excerpts from "Carmen" in which the solos were sung by Corrine Bridge, Revel Rice, Mary Quinn, Cliff Anderson and Maurice Taylor. Ramon Opie, Corrine Bridge and Maurice Taylor also gave separate solos and the orchestra played four pieces under the baton of Wilfred Kohn before an almost capacity audience.
