The Eastern Bottling Company's new factory is now taking shape on the corner of Aberdeen and Stanley Road, adjacent to its warehouse. The builder is F. G. Mahy, of Whakatane.

Gisborne Recaps' new fitting bays, offices, and sales area, in Gladstone Road, will open next month. Being built by A. L. W. Martin, it is set back from the road adjacent to the present factory, and features a large concrete forecourt.

A block of three shops being built on the corner of Childers and Lytton Road by C. R. Taylor for Elgin Properties Ltd will be opened at the end of September.

The site of the former Box Company sawmill, in the Cobden Street-Carnarvon Street block of Gladstone Road, was purchased recently by the Auckland-based firm of Smith and Brown Ltd. The building pictured will be demolished shortly to make way for the new department store.
