Basketball Tourney

The Kathleen Henderson-Patsy Burke tournament was, this season, for the first time in some years, played in fine weather.

Teams from Hawkes Bay, Whakatane and the East Coast participated in a most successful round.

Winners of the Henderson shield were St. Mary's Old-Girls (1), which team is, from left, at back, Pam Conole, Vivienne Scott, Helen Kearney, Gillian Fuller, Sue Williams, and, in front, Lois Smith, Moira Berry, Jan O'Halloran and Rosemarie Owen.

Alice Matahiki (captain), Mary Riki, Carole Papuni, Linda Maurirere, Evelyn Milner, Eileen Chaffey, Kura Matahiki and Patricia Milner are the Ngatumanako Youth Club team which won the Patsy Burke shield.

Mrs Cheryl Garson, "A" grade Player ex Brisbane now Gisborne, has joined Greywing. Her husband teaches at Intermediate School.
