Mercantile Basketball

Held strictly for the sport of it, the Y.M.C.A. mercantile indoor basketball tournament provided plenty of fun and exercise for the many teams which took part.

Cups were presented to the winning teams while the runners-up were presented with "trophies".

The Nurses, winners of the ladies' cup for the fourth time running, are Yvonne Paenga, Lovey Dunnet, Frances Lillas and, at back, Mina Newcombe and Mahi Matana.

Winners of the ladies' losers trophy are Yvonne Kent, Margaret and Dianne Brodie, Lorraine Brew, Janet Choveaux and Theresa Cleaver.
