Gallant in Defeat
With the game taking extra time Eastern Union went down gallantly to North Shore one-nil in the semi-final of the Chatham Cup at the Childers Road Reserve.
Eastern Union centre forward Alan Paley was ordered off the field during the second half and by taking a chance and breaking up their defensive unit the team was unable to stop the sparkling goal of Shore inside forward Peter Maynard.
