The Gourmet Touch

A most successful wine and cheese tasting evening was held recently, for members of the Gisborne Lions and their guests, the proceeds of which will go to the children's playground in Churchill Park.

A wide variety of delectable cheeses, and a delightful selection of New Zealand wines was served to the company, giving them the opportunity to appreciate and realise the excellence of this country's products.

Radio and TV personality Merv Smith was M.C. and raconteur for the evening.

A talk on wines and a question and answer period was a feature of the evening and this was conducted by Tom McDonald of Napier.
