The Devil's Disciple

George Bernard Shaw's "The Devil's Disciple" was this year's choice of play by the Gisborne Girls' High School.

Set in the period of the American War of Independence the play is the story of tensions between a minister of religion, his wife and a rebel.

The whole cast performed well, particularly the leads, and the authenticity of the sets and costumes were a credit to the producer, Miss Yates.

Climax of the play is the hanging scene in which Richard Dudgeon, played by Marion Bibby, is brought to the scaffold.

The play commences with the reading of a will which is attended by, in front, Denise O'Halloran, Sally Lopdell, Marion Bibby, Georgina Thorpe, and at back, Gillian Skyrme, Claire Finnigan, and Anne Milton reading the document.
