Holiday Riding School

Organised and run by Miss W. Lysnar on her property at Okitu, Wainui, the school for young riders is extremely popular during the term holidays.

Boys and girls come from all parts of the country for tuition and a riding holiday, and this year came from such diverse places as Auckland, Edgecumbe, Ruatoria, Taradale and Wellington as well as Gisborne.

Each adult specialises in a certain aspect of riding and the groups change tutors each day.

The people teaching at the school are Mesdames Russell and Tomb, Miss Lysnar and Mr L. Woodward.

Although some of the young riders who have their own horses prefer to bring them, the majority of pupils make use of the horses supplied by the school, which number is quite considerable when it is found that forty came for lessons these past holidays.
