Roving Camera

This is the first of 83 pre-stressed concrete piles, each 70 feet long and 16 inches square, to be used in constructing the bridge.

The first pile of the new bridge over the Waimata river at the site of the old Willian Pettle bridge was driven recently.

A conference of noxious weeds inspectors was held in the city recently with over sixty inspectors from all parts of the country attending.

This top-dressing plane was upended at the aerodrome during the recent airforce exercise when it made contact with a helicopter launching pad. Both blades of the propeller were bent and some fuselage damaged but there were plenty of hands to help set the plane upright again.
