Big Kaiti Building Projects

With the foundation work how being carried out for the Kaiti Shopping Centre, and plans on the board for St David's Presbyterian Church and a garage and service station for Coulson's, Kaiti will have three noteworthy buildings in the near future.

Kaiti Shopping Centre

This $200,000 project, to be completed by Christmas, is situated between Wainui Road and Jackson Street opposite the Kaiti School.

When completed, the complex will contain a 7500 sq ft supermarket owned by the Sheepfarmers, wine and hardware shops, doctor's rooms and eight private shops.

Attractively laid out and interspersed with plantings of trees and shrubs, the area will. have parking for 180 cars.

St David's Presbyterian Church.

A church of modern design from the pen of Rex Forbes is to be built for St. David's Presbyterian Church on the site at the corner of Wainui and Crawford Roads.

Of pleasing lines, the building features a spire forward of the church entrance which has an all-glass front.

Coulson's Garage.

To be built on the same site as the present service station, Coulson's Garage will cover the whole of the quarter acre section.

Situated on the corner of Wainui Road and Hirini Street this modern structure will contain living quarters in the second storey.
